Our Xtra Thick/Heavy Buffalo/Bison hides are 7 oz and heavier, giving you substantial leather for projects where thickness and structure matter. These hides have the pronounced pebble grain, wrinkles and grain variation Buffalo leather is known for, but with considerably more weight and body than our lighter hides.
What Is Heavy Buffalo Leather Used For?
These heavier weights are well suited for projects such as moccasin soles, armor, flint knapping pads and other leatherwork that calls for thick, durable material. Weight and temper can vary from hide to hide, so check the individual listing for the exact thickness, size and feel of each piece.
