This large commercially tanned hide measures 7 1/4 square feet, is 2-3 oz. in weight (thickness) and is soft and pliable. The grain has been buffed down (but not removed) to give it a soft mate feel/finish while keeping its strength.
Our unique combination of oils and dyes gives these skins a great braintan color.
We double buff the suede to make it smooth so you can use the suede side out for more traditional looking projects. The footage marks are stamped down in the neck giving you a large working area.
It's perfect for buckskin dresses, shirts, jackets, etc. Great for bags, lacing, hair wraps, bow cases, and more.
These skins are made to resemble smoked brain tanned leather so some color variation, small blemishes, etc., are possible. These hides can be smoked to add to the look and smell.
